Today I’m sharing my basic granola recipe with with red goji berries, white coconut flakes, and dried blueberries. It’s the perfect snack for all of your Fourth of July festivities!
Granola is one of my all-time favorite snacks and I love that there are countless combinations of nuts, seeds, fruits, and spices that can be used. Since it’s almost Independence Day, I decided to go patriotic.
For some red – goji berries, one of my favorite fruits and “superfoods.”
For some white – unsweetened coconut flakes, another ingredient that I almost always keep around. I love the texture and the long-lasting energy they provide. I use them quite often in granola and energy bars.
For some blue – dried blueberries. Rich in phytonutrients and antioxidants, (+ seriously tasty) blueberries just might be my favorite fruit.

How to make granola
The first step to making your own granola is mixing all ingredients together in a large mixing bowl. Then, the granola is transferred to a parchment-lined baking sheet and baked at 325º F until golden brown, about 15-20 minutes.
(Stay close by because every oven is a bit different – nobody likes burnt granola.)
Once cooled, you can break apart the granola into small clusters, cut it into squares, or keep it in larger chunks. Serve on its own as a healthy snack, or add to nut-yogurt, nut milk, or nice cream.
- 1 cup rolled oats gluten free of needed
- 1/2 cup almonds
- 2 tbsp dried goji berries
- 2 tbsp dried blueberries
- 2 tbsp unsweetened coconut flakes
- 2 tbsp almond butter
- 3 tbsp pure maple syrup
- 2 tbsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- pinch salt
- Preheat oven to 325 F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Add all ingredients to a large mixing bowl and stir until well-combined. Spread on baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown. Allow to cool before serving.
