Whether you're vegan, lactose-intolerant, or just looking for a plant-based dessert without added sugar, this strawberry milkshake is a quick win. It's also family-friendly, naturally gluten-free, and can easily be customized with your favorite toppings.

The key to this creamy vegan strawberry milkshake is So Delicious® No Sugar Added Vanilla Bean Coconutmilk Frozen Dessert. It's dairy-free and gluten-free. This flavor is nice for a midday snack since it doesn't have any added sugar (which means you're less likely to experience an energy crash). Ingredients

This vegan strawberry milkshake comes together with just two simple ingredients. Fresh strawberries bring natural sweetness and pink color. You can even blend the whole berry-green tops included-for less prep and less food waste. Dairy-free vanilla ice cream alternative adds creaminess and balances the fruit with just the right amount of sweetness.

Substitutions

  • Strawberries: Swap in frozen strawberries (let them thaw slightly first) or try this milkshake with blueberries or raspberries for a fun twist.
  • Dairy-free ice cream alternative: Almond, oat, soy, or cashew-based ice cream alternatives also work. Use your favorite style.
  • Sweetener boost: If your berries aren't very sweet, feel free to add a drizzle of maple syrup or agave nectar to taste.

Making Ahead and Storage

This milkshake tastes best right after blending when it's cold and creamy. If you have leftovers, pour them into a jar, cover, and refrigerate for up to 24 hours. The texture will soften as it sits, so give it a good shake or quick re-blend before drinking. For a fun twist, you can also freeze the blended shake in popsicle molds to enjoy later as refreshing strawberry pops.

FAQ

How to make a vegan strawberry milkshake?

Simply blend fresh strawberries with a dairy-free ice cream alternative, such as coconut, oat, or almond-based vanilla frozen dessert. If your milkshake is too thick, blend with a splash of plant milk until you reach your desired consistency. That's it!

What is a substitute for milk in a milkshake?

Instead of milk, you could use dairy-free ice cream alternative blended with fruit. Plant-based milk (like oat or almond milk) can also work.

Are vegan milkshakes healthy?

The nutrient density of vegan milkshakes depends a lot on the ingredients. Using whole fruit adds fiber and antioxidants, and choosing a no-added-sugar ice cream alternative cuts down on the sweetness. No matter the ingredients, vegan milkshakes are a fun drink that can fit into a balanced and nourishing plant-based diet.

I did NOT know you can eat the leaves of strawberries! That tip saves a lot of time and hey - extra fiber, too, probably. This look absolutely amazing and your photos are gorgeous 🙂
